About The Etobicoke Art Group |
|
THE ETOBICOKE ART GROUP is a friendly group of amateur and professional artists who have been meeting in Etobicoke since November, 1951.
Officially, the aim of the group is "to further the best interests of art", particularly in Etobicoke, through the mutual and co-operative efforts of our members.
Unofficially... we are there to have a great time. We paint, sculpt, or draw, and learn new techniques while we make friends, hold exhibitions of our work, enjoy lecture evenings with lively experienced speakers who share with us their artistic visions, raise money for bursaries for local students to continue their art education and generally enjoy making innovative art.
Our CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS for members are held in Studio B in Neilson Park Creative Centre. Studio equipment available for classes includes tables, chairs, easels, drawing horses, both large and small printing presses, slot-hood and overhead ventilation, and a variety of still-life materials. As well as a basic list of classes held on weekdays, we offer occasional weekend workshops. Some recent workshops have included encaustic, portraiture, abstraction, and landscape.
MEMBERSHIP is open to everyone upon payment of the combined annual membership in Neilson Park Creative Centre and EAG’s annual fee. Before registering in a class or workshop, you must be a member of the group and the Centre. No membership fee is required for students under 18 years of age.
A member is entitled to:
